Owen - At Home With

Owen is a solo project of Mike Kinsella from Chicago. Kinsella is one of the dominant figures in the Chicago indie scene, having also led the band American Fottball, and played in the band Cap'n Jazz, and Joan of Arc. Owen is known for its soft melodies, complex acoustics, combining lead acoustics with keyboard and other guitars, plaintive vocals and on occasions adding drums. Its a ver calm very tranquil experience.

The Rise Of Science

Its very hard to come across creative bands these days. Most bands are just mediocre attempts to be different and fail. In comes "The Rise Of Science" from Atlanta Georgia. This alternative progressive rock band packs a bunch. Their self-produced album Casey is one for the books. The 5 piece band self-funded, recorded and produced this album. The outcome...a amazing album. There sound is uncanny from their enlightening lyrics to there articulate musicianship. Bassist Zachary Boswell said to AP magazine "We write in-depth stories that span over characters' lives or moments, then we write a soundtrack to their situation." Keep you eyes open for this band.

Before They Were BIG

Before joining the screamo band Alexisonfire and started his solo career as City & Colour. Dallas Green was in a band called Helicon Blue. Producing several songs before breaking up. The three piece band also featured Chris Rankin on bass and vocal, and Nicholas Osczypko on drums. The band recorded a self-titled release.

Helicon Blue

Before Jonny Craig became the vocal threat he is today, becoming well known for many bands and projects (Dance Gavin Dance, Emarosa, Isles & Glaciers, and solo). He joined a pop-punk emo band in 2002 called "Ghost Runner On Third". While Craig was in the band they released a 6 song ep called "Speak Your Dreams". Due to a heavy drug abuse problem Craig had at the time he had to depart from the band. Which worked to his advantage, as he is now towering over the emo/screamo scene with his incredible voice.

Envy On The Coast - Low Country

Long Island based band Envy on the Coast has returned with their second full length album
"Lowcountry". Art work done by Justin Beck (Glassjaw). On 3.22.2010 the band released a full stream of the album on myspace. The band delivers again with metaphoric lyrics and intricate musicianship. Lead singer Ryan Hunter continues to push the boundaries by questioning the beliefs of others. A notable song "Made of stone" is a clear example of this. Overall the album stays on the same level as their previous work but continues to move foward. Lowcountry releases 3.30.10 go get it!
